A clear edge

History has not been favorable to Boca as regards the results it has obtained on River's field, but during the last twenty years of the Superderby  21 games were played in the Monumental stadium in Nuñez ( taking into account only local official tournaments) and the results suggest that Boca has laughed more than it has wept.

Let's go straight to the core: statistics show that Boca has won 7, tied 10 and lost 4 matches on River's field during the last two decades, scoring a total of 25 goals and receiving 21.

Glorious results like the 4-2 attained during a cold winter night within the 1995 Clausura, the 2-1 scored during Maradona's last official match within the 1997 Apertura, or the 2-0 (the last victory in Nuñez) played with great class within the 2003 Apertura are eloquent examples that show that  Boca has nothing to fear from having to step out onto River's field.

Other general information: Paulo Valentim is the top scorer against River in the Argentine professional soccer era, having scored 10 goals between 1960 and 1963 (2 in Nuñez and 8 in the Bombonera). And among the players of the present squad the top scorer is Martin Palermo with 5 goals (three in the Monumental stadium and 2  on Boca's field).

What follows is the list of the games played during the last 20 years in the Monumental stadium, with Boca's scorers in brackets:
